Senior Project Engineer – Substations HV Design [New Zealand]

At the heart of the electricity sector, Transpower proactively plans for the grid of the future that will connect new renewable energy projects and enable a transition to a net zero carbon economy. Enquiries to connect to the Grid from generators, distributors, and end-users have doubled in the past three years and these projects are cheaper and faster to build than ever before. Transpower are working to ensure we can respond by offering connections faster and more efficiently.

About the team

The Design and Project Engineering - Substations team provides engineering design advice, expertise, and solutions that optimise performance, risk, and cost for New Zealand energy users. Our team leads the technical work across the project lifecycle from research, optioneering, design, and delivery.

We are currently working on 150 substation projects including 12 new greenfield substation builds, 7 Major Capital redevelopments and over 35 primary systems replacement and refurbishment projects.
